Painting flowers is my way of savoring the wonders of natural forms. I get to know and understand them better and make them a part of my own experience through the process of drawing and painting.

The cycle of blooms marks the changing of the seasons and the unfolding of my own life's path. Every bloom is unique and special. The images represent the bloom, the light, the season and my response to the subject. I am constantly discovering new surprises and finding the comfort of an old and familiar process in this journey. Using silk as my medium captures some of the delicate, luminous qualities of the blooms.
