A maquette (below) was made of the Poppy design and used as part of the proposal for the Ojai Plaza Project.

The petals were scaled up from an actual matilija poppy and rendered in heavy paper (right) which was wrinkled to obtain the correct petal texture.

Then each petal was sculpted in wax (below right).
